The now-famous letter, with its blessing, “May the Children of the Stock of Abraham, who dwell in this land, continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other Inhabitants,” was George Washington’s response to several communiques back and forth between his staff and synagogue congregations in Newport, Savannah, New York, Richmond, Philadelphia and Charleston.

America has always been intent on its citizens being “born free;” even as a new nation it recognized that one of its greatest assets is acceptance of its diverse citizenry, from which its motto is derived: “E Pluribus Unum” — “Out of Many, One.”

Jewish people have been in this country since its very founding.

This blog should not need to exist. But it's been said that antisemitism has always existed, so I guess its recent resurgence is to somehow be expected. It's just not welcome, it's a shame, and it does not make sense or belong anywhere nowadays, much less in today's America.

Why activism? Why fight?

What is there to hate about Jewish people? That's like saying one hates Episcopalians or Lutherans. See how ridiculous that is? It's baseless, senseless prejudice that needs to be exposed as empty.

Life. Liberty. And the pursuit of happiness.

But fight we must. To get out on the street or in on social media and ask questions. Have people see how nonsensical the hate is.
